Every Monday at 11 AM, M.E.N.T.O.R.S., Inc. generously distributes food to the local community until supplies run out. This crucial service ensures that individuals and families have access to nourishing meals, addressing issues of food insecurity.
Additionally, on Wednesdays, the organization offers fresh vegetables, further promoting healthy eating habits. The distribution of fresh vegetables begins at 10 AM and continues until the available produce is distributed. M.E.N.T.O.R.S., Inc. is located at 10200 S. Main St., Los Angeles, CA 90003, making it a valuable resource for the local residents in their pursuit of food security and a healthier lifestyle.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Join us on May 20 from 9am to 4pm to fight the stigma of The “M” Word in our community – mental health. Interact with over two dozen culturally competent mental health providers, dance to musical guest and mental health advocate Stuck in a Tree (S.I.A.T.), and learn from our keynote motivational speaker Anielle Timmons as she discusses mental health stigma. We hope to see you there!

ABUNDANT BIRTH PROJECT
Abundant Birth Project Flyers and Information
The Abundant Birth Project is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at addressing disparities in birth outcomes for Black and Pacific Islander women in Los Angeles County. Our mission is to provide comprehensive support to expectant mothers from these communities to ensure they have access to high-quality prenatal care, resources, and support.
What We Offer:
Financial incentives for participating in prenatal visits
Assistance with transportation to and from appointments
Referrals to community resources and support services
Prenatal education and counseling
Postpartum support and assistance
How to Get Involved:

Beat the Streets: Kids Summer Wrestling
Are you interested in strength building, team bonding, and confidence boosting? Beat the Streets Los Angeles is hosting a four week wrestling clinic this summer for children aged 5-13 for free. The clinic meets twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays and runs from July 5 to July 31st this year. Check it out!
Second Annual Teenager’s Juneteenth
Join us for our second annual Teenager’s Juneteenth Seminar! The seminar will include presentations from accomplished guest speakers Toni Bryant and Louis ‘TreLuv’ Smith, an art workshop, and free gifts to all attendees. We hope to see you there!

In observance of Mental Health Awareness Month, our friends at the AV Violence Prevention Coalition invite you to attend their free healing through art sessions to help heal from gun violence trauma. Aimee Mikalinis, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) will guide both art therapy sessions.

Youth Self-Expression Workshops
The LA County Office of Violence Prevention invites youth ages 12-17 to two healing-centered events during Mental Health Awareness Month! Participate in workshops led by local artists that use a holistic approach to promote healing and social connection.
Youth Mental Health First Aid Training
Calling all youth ages 12-18 in the Antelope Valley. Learn how to recognize, understand, and respond to mental health and substance abuse challenges. Lunch will be provided and registration is required.

Join us to get vaccinated! MENTORS Inc. is hosting a vaccine pop-up event on May 18 between 1pm and 3pm at our Lancaster Community Center. Flu and COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are available. Immigration status and insurance are not required. If you are over age 55 or are currently experiencing homelessness you are eligible for special rewards!
